What does it mean to be from "around the way"? Can it be summed up in one or two words? Would it take a lifetime or simply an adolescence to find out? Is it based on life experience or is it defined by how you dress and the music you listen to? Let’s get into the nitty gritty of it all.

The Who: Melissa Alexander, owner and lead photographer of Phyllis Iller, has long loved growth and vulnerability.

The What: We are raising $125k to take the Around the Way Dreams experience on a 4-city tour.

The Where: We plan to create experiences in New York, NY, Detroit, MI, Philadelphia, PA, and Atlanta, GA.

The When: Spring/Summer 2023

The Why: Around the Way Dreams is a documentation of the Black and Brown folks who have seen a thing or two in life, but still find the courage to brave this world with their head held high. The Dreamy experience includes music, art, and, most importantly, pertinent discussions about the around the way life. We will be seen, heard, understood, and connected to one another.
